Society Constitution, Article III Membership

A. Regular Members shall be those persons who can trace their ancestry to any member of Clan Rose or person whose surname was "Rose", who emigrated from Scotland, and can name such ancestor (e.g., Alexander Rose, ca. 1772, Virginia; or Hugh Rose, 1848 , Canada; or John Rose, 1950, California, through William Rose, ca. 1880, Australia).

B. Associate Member shall be those persons who are the spouse of any person who qualifies for Regular Membership in the Society. Should the Regular Member predecease the Associate Member, eligibility for regular membership passes to the surviving spouse.

C. Life Members shall be those persons who qualify in all respects as a Regular Member but who shall make a contribution to the Society in such amount as shall be determined by the Board of Directors. Life Members having made such contribution shall not be subject to further payment of dues but shall be entitled to the privileges of membership in accordance with the Constitution of the Society during their respective lives.

D. Sustaining Members shall be those persons who qualify in all respects as a Regular member but who shall make a contribution to the Society in such amount as shall be determined by the Board of Directors. Sustaining Members shall be entitled to the privileges of membership in accordance with the Constitution of the Society during the year in which they made the designated contribution set by the Board of Directors.

If you are certain of your Scottish and Clan Rose ancestry but are unable to name a specific ancestor as required in the Constitution, attach a statement to this application which indicates your reasons for this knowledge and belief. It will be reviewed by the Board of Directors.

I respect the heritage and traditions of Clan Rose and I shall promote the harmonious operation of the Society subject to its Constitution. I desire the following type of membership. (check one)
