Dear Followers of the Rose Clan Facebook page and Kinsmen and women everywhere.
Greetings from the Highlands of Scotland and from your newly recognized Chief of the Clan Rose, David Rose of Kilravock.
It is my privilege to begin a new era of the Clan and hopefully to lead it into wonderful things, both here in Scotland and wherever there are Roses in the world.
We have an amazing history, which some of you may know I'm sure, but as in most Scottish clans, historical implications and repercussions of one kind or another, have made the Roses enjoy a fairly unique and well documented family history for nearly 800 years. We are scattered throughout the world in many different countries.
For a little while of late, it has been difficult to maintain continuity, but this has now been resolved with the fact that there is still an unbroken line of descent from our 11th century forbears. It is my intention to create a worldwide family of Roses, by using today's modern technology to form an international website, from which all Roses can get information of the Clan and it's resolutions for the future.
This will take a little time to achieve, but in time,I hope it will give everyone an opportunity to contribute to it and have many links to items of interest, to all other Rose Clan Associations in other countries, especially the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and to feel that here in Scotland there is an ancestral home to which you can feel drawn to and that hopefully you may wish to visit at some time in the future.
We have a motto" Constant and True". It's a hard one to follow in everyday life, but in spirit at least, I hope I can try to maintain it's traditions and that of Kilravock for the future of our clan.
I am to visit The Ventura Seaside Highland Games in California in October and very soon after, the Stone Mountain Highland Games in Georgia. So, for those of you who might able to be around these two events, I will look forward to meeting folk there.Good health to all and happiness,
Slainte, David Rose of Kilravock
I have been remiss in not posting this message sooner.
As most of you know, we lost our Convener Linville J Rose in October. Linville’s love for people and passion for Our Clan was what made him such a great Convener of CRSA.
This year Chief David Rose visited both the Seaside Highland Games on the West Coast and the Stone Mountain Highland Games on the East Coast.
Stone Mountain served as the location of the CRSA 2013 AGM. Follow the links below to news and photos from each location.
